Client Case Study: Brentford FC

Brentford Football Club (BFC) is a professional association football club based in Brentford, Greater London and owned by Matthew Benham. BFC currently competes in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

The Club was founded way back in 1889 and has played its home games at Griffin Park in Brentford since 1904. In 2018, the club broke ground on their new stadium by Kew Bridge which is targeted to be completed by 2nd quarter of 2020. The 2020/21 season will kick off for BFC in the new stadium.

From Construction site to Heritage Walk

Migrating existing supporters from the old stadium to a new one is a significant undertaking, which needs to be managed carefully to ensure the existing fanbase which is the soul of the Club are well looked after and these supporters are in the location ‘right’ for them within the new stadium.

Furthermore, with the increase in stadium capacity from 12,763 to 17,250 of which 2,900 were premium seats, it was imperative to find more supporters, which required a major marketing challenge. Premium Sales Director for BFC, Ken Sharp decided that a new dedicated marketing space, ideally close to the new stadium was required for his team to start working from by October 2018.

Ken Sharp enlisted the assistance of John Vokins of M/s Vokins the leading Commercial Property consultants in the area, to find a suitable venue. After considering various option, Vokins was able to connect Brentford FC with Airivo who had premises which would be suitable for BFC. John Vokins knew of Airivo’s strong track record of delivering client centric solutions and creating property solutions which the client requires and knew that Airivo would be able to offer the property solution from where Mr Sharp’s team could successfully work on a timely basis.

A Perfect Match

Airivo called upon Chartered Building Surveyor Barry Edwards of Silverwood and property contractor Glenn Irvine of Mode who has worked on numerous fit out projects, to deliver the space for BFC. Various meetings were held with BFC to understand their requirements following which a modern design was created. Airivo were able to call upon the various contractors and other suppliers to fit out the space to meet the needs of the club and deliver a modern and effective venue for staff and the prospects.

Not only did Airivo carry out a complete internal CAT A fitout, but they delivered on three crucial design elements for Brentford FC;
  • Modern reception area with attractive seating to welcome visitors.
  • A theatre style environment for fans and visitors to view the available seating and understand the variety of tickets and seats on offer. LCD TV’s to present graphics and images of the new stadium.
  • A relaxed and informal area for the sales team to answer any queries and discuss available packages.

Results
